This unit was put up in the year 1957 for the manufacture of DDT Technical and Formulation. Subsequently, Endosulfan Technical and Dicofol Technical plants were put up in the year 1980 and 1995 respectively. Mancozeb Production Facility was put up in the year 2001.
Work is in progress for getting the ISO 14000 certification.
Environmental Policy
We, the Management and Employees of
HINDUSTAN INSECTICIDES LIMITED,
UDYOGAMANDAL UNIT, are committed to
the continual improvement of the environmental
management system and prevention of
pollution by ensuring that all our activities at
every stage of production of pesticides
(technical grade), their formulations and
byproducts comply with applicable legal,
statutory and other requirements. It is our
endeavor to minimize waste generation, reduce
impact on the environment from harmful
emissions and effluents, promote recycling and
reduce energy and water consumption. As a part
of our purchase policy, we work with
suppliers who themselves have sound
enviornmental policies.
To implement this policy effectively, we
are periodically monitoring and reviewing the
set objectives and targets. The policy is
implemented and maintained at all levels by
communicating to all persons working for or
on behalf of our organization. The environmental
policy is available to the public on request.
